Pison-less Alternating Delay
uploaded by Agentomega
A schematic for an alternating delay system without using pistons. Example uses lever as input. Insert any number of repeaters to increase delay. Useful for timing systems where you want an event to occur before/after another depending if the device is being turned on or off.
The device works as is because the and AND gate will only turn on after the repeater delay propagates to the other input. It turns off more rapidly because the input "off" short-circuits it, circumventing delay.
I personally used it in a hidden staircase system where on one side I have pistons removing dirt, and on the other side pistons adding staircases. The staircases need to take longer than the dirt removal when generating the staircase itself, but need to retract quickly when removing the staircase.
